If you are a new owner of a property, you would contact the County Assessor's office with the correct address to send the statement before October 1st. As they will certify the accounts to our office sometime after that date.
If your mortgage company is responsible for payment of your taxes, you should contact them to confirm their receipt of tax information from our office.
Failure to receive a statement is not a legal reason for waiving interest. The Treasurer must assess interest on all delinquent payments at a rate of 18% per year, added monthly on the 15th day of each month, at a rate of 1.5%.
Your property taxes may be paid in full or in two installments: The 1st half or the full amount must be paid by January 1st. If nothing is paid by January 1st, then the full amount becomes delinquent January 1st. We can not accept first half payment after December 31st. If you choose to pay the first half payment on December 31st, then the last half becomes due on before April 1st.
